Christopher L. Hardy

Vice President of North America | XPEL

Christopher L. Hardy has always been a natural leader. In 10th grade, the Canadian-born teenager got a job at the Sheridan Hotel in Paris; by the end of the summer, he had advanced to the night manager of the housekeeping department, earning more than his mother at the time. He began to question why he should continue attending school when he was making a better income and felt he already knew everything he was being taught. As a result, he decided to further his career in the hospitality industry. At Sheridan, he took part in programs aimed at identifying and nurturing future leaders, but after a few years and numerous responsibilities on his shoulders, he left to focus on physical labor. He ultimately started working for a Canadian chain of electronic stores called MultiTech, first assigned to the sales floor and rising quickly to become one of the top sellers.

Mr. Hardy’s rise at MultiTech was meteoric, advancing to assistant manager, floor manager, and general manager of its top-performing store in the country. But before long, MultiTech expanded at the same pace as a competitor, leading to major challenges within the company. He was advised soon after by a finance director that there was success to be found in the car business, leading to his start at a car dealership; within a month on the floor, he set Canadian records for the most Acuras sold in 30 days. He eventually moved into the financial office, recruited to power sport sales, like boats, motorcycles, and side-by-sides, before becoming a 50-50 partner at Nutrie from 2013 to 2017.

In 2017, the suppliers at Nutrie, XPEL, recruited Mr. Hardy and transferred him to the United States, where he excelled as a district sales manager for a few years before becoming the U.S. Sales Manager and Senior Director of Sales for North America. Since 2022, he’s been Director of Sales and recently became the Vice President for North America at XPEL, a provider of automotive protection films and window tint solutions ranging from watercraft to home and office applications for customers and installers alike. When he joined, he strived to change the company’s sales model—wanting to focus more on conducting business together, taking care of one another, and avoiding the practice of using others to advance an agenda—and helped them adopt a new marketing strategy, producing film and developing manufacturing capabilities; it demonstrated to consumers that they offered solutions, superior in both quality and quantity, that others did not. In 2021, the business model became a formal policy for North America, marking of the biggest adaptations XPEL has made.

Priding himself on being energetic and goal-oriented, Mr. Hardy transformed the industry landscape through his innovative approach to improve XPEL’s processes through patterns and data, ability to develop strong customer relations, and effective management of his team. As a reflection of his expertise, he served as a keynote speaker for the Tint World Conference in 2025. Looking toward the future, he aspires to one day become the chief executive officer of XPEL or another company that embraces risks and continually seeks new opportunities for growth. He believes staying in growth mode is essential, regardless of a business’s size.
